New toy

shrook.com is moving to dedicated hardware for the first time. I was looking at some of the places offering Mac mini-based hosting, but the ISPs offering them seem fantastically uncompetitive otherwise, on things likes bandwidth. Which means instead I'll be running it on an equally-lovely Sun Cobalt RaQ. I don't have a date for the move set, but it will be some time in the next two weeks and probably mean an hour or two of downtime, though I'm working on a plan to minimize that.
Previously, the whole thing was hosted on a virtual dedicated server; basically a fast PC running 16 copies of VirtualPC, one of which was my "server". This works well enough but I think it might have made the sites hosted on it a little unresponsive. In any case change is always good and it'll give me a chance to switch to newer software.
In other new toy news, my own Mac mini has sort of shipped. Here's an Atom feed no one but me needs subscribe to.
