No good advice
If you have a shiny new server and you can't get your new software to install and you Google up ways of forcing it to, bypassing the automatic stop and flashing lights, you will overwrite the file used for loading any and all software and you will no longer be able to run any command and once you logout you will never be able to login again and you will have to write a sheepish email to the hosting company asking them to do a clean install barely 24 hours after they let you loose on their server.
Anyway, if I can stop being an idiot for long enough, the server switchover should happen this Sunday for shrook.com, and perhaps earlier for this site. Downtime will be equal to how long it takes to transfer the database accross, which shouldn't be so bad.
