Ungentlemanly bitterness

So, no one seems very happy with that Ars Technica article. The original author of Pulpfiction says it wasn't given a fair chance, and the guy that bought Pulpfiction from him agrees, alluding to the fact that the author of NetNewsWire was consulted with before the article was written (scroll down to Brian's comment), and no one else. The author of Newsmac Pro isn't happy either (scroll down to Rory's comment). Me, the author of Shrook? Well, given that the author is a long time NetNewsWire user, I'm not surprised the other programs weren't given a fair chance, or that little effort was made to get to know how they worked beyond what was written on their respective websites.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think Shrook got an unfairly low mark. I was lucky; if he'd bothered to use the thing more he'd have discovered as many flaws as features. Which means I'm now resolved to turn Shrook into the greatest newsreader in the history of the cosmos. Synchronization and shrook.com will be less sucky, the UI will lose the four column and brushed-metal nonsense, it'll have tabbed everything, a built-in browser, and an army of fans. Brent, this is war.
