Thrupp v1.4 released

This release is kind of looking forward to v2.0. I've redesigned the way Thrupp copies files to the player. It now makes a list of all the files that are on the player, another list of what should be on the player, and tries to reconcile the two. It did sort of do this before, but in a very roundabout way that was very vulnerable to left-hand-doesn't-know-what-right-hand-is-doing type screw ups, so the new version should be much more robust.

A few cool new things:

  • In Player Contents view, there's a new section called "Other files". This shows all the files in your music folder that Thrupp didn't put there (It's much more useful than it sounds).
  • If you rename a song in iTunes, the song file on your player will now also be renamed the next time you run Thrupp.
  • If you change between having folders for albums and having folders for artists and albums (or whatever), Thrupp will now quietly rearrange the files on disk (whereas before it would just ask you to nuke your disk and start again).
