Shrook v2.54
I wanted to fix some final niggling bugs in Shrook 2 so that there'll be a nice stable version of it for all eternity (or until Shrook 3 ships, whichever comes first). Bugs fixed include:There should be a much more interesting update for Shrook users in the near future. Until then, download v2.54 from the app page.
- If you use both Growl and synchronization, it now only shows alerts for items you haven't already seen on your other computer.
- The problem with synchronisation adding channels to groups it shouldn't should now be fixed.
- The Channel has moved dialog is now much better worded.
- The width of the title column in each table now changes with the width of the pane, so once adjusted properly they will not go out of sync.

Shrook is hands-down the best news reader I've ever used. However, when going beyond reading to sharing, there's room for improvement. Specifically, forward by email produces an unformated hard-to-read mess of a message. Properly spaced ASCII would even be acceptable, and shoud enven be a configuration option for those of us who send to mutt/pine/et al users. Further, it's impossible to print. What? A Mac app that can't print a page which is beautifully rendered on my screen? I'd happily print to PDF and email to my more sane friends. Sure, I can do screen captures and stich them together; or I can go to the blog and print (but most blogs aren't printer-friendly). But, please, let us print if we want in v3.-- Greg Land, May 24th, 2007 8:46 AM.
