Shrook for iPhone v2.0 in the App Store

Apple have just approved a major upgrade to the Shrook iPhone application. New features include:

  • When viewing your subscriptions list or a group, there's now an "All Feeds" option at the top that shows all your items at once, just like in the Mac app.
  • When you refresh a feed, it now only downloads the new and changed items, which is much, much faster.
  • When viewing an item, you now have next/previous buttons to jump between items.
  • There's a status panel at the bottom of the screen, showing what Shrook is up to.
  • Long titles and headlines now wrap onto a second line rather than being truncated.
Shrook for iPhone synchronizes with shrook.com and relies on the server for its data, so you'll need to sign up for an account. You can download the app for free from the App Store.

Note that if you have the previous version of the app installed, it may not show up as an automatic update.

The new version seems to have problem with non-ascii characters in the name of groups. It refused to update, said it could not interpret the data from the server. Syncing worked after I had renamed the groups with non-ascii characters. The previous version had no problems with this.

Thanks, wumo, removing the non-ascii characters sorted it out.
